Is it really Pre-shrunk?

Grey t-shirt preshrunk cotton

Cotton is known to shrink when exposed to water, heat, and agitation, all of which it will experience during the washing process. So, is that t-shirt really pre-shrunk? Well, here’s the truth Pre-shrunk implies that most of the shrinkage has been removed from the garment, but do not be misled and assume that no additional shrinking will occur.
The garment has been put through a machine that pushes, or compacts, the fibers tightly together. This process condenses the fabric by removing the space between the stitches as a way of replicating the shrinking process.

In doing this, the garment now has been “pre-shrunk” and will shrink less when put through the traditional washing and drying process.
Pre-shrunk materials can be washed and dried after purchasing and the material is usually able to form back to its original shape.

Fulfill4me T-shirts have been preshrunk, such as the “Hustle All Day” T-shirt and “I Love Me” Tee. Items like these should hold their sizes quite well, but may still shrink a bit in the wash, especially if care instructions are not followed.

Tips on how to take care of your printed garments

  • Turn the clothes inside out before throwing them into the wash machine.
  • Wash similar clothes together.
  • Do your laundry with cold water.
  • Avoid bleach.
  • Avoid dryers, as well.
  • Let them dry under the shade.
  • Stay away from irons.
